Knitting

The classic

Like many people, my grandmother taught me to knit as a child, and I am eternally grateful to her. From when I learned at eight years old, I have never stopped knitting, and have almost always had a project on the go.

For a number of years I worked on a small-holding, and was part-time shepherdess during that time, tending to our small flock, ranging from 3-5 sheep at any time.

To me, there is nothing like wool, real wool. I have washed, carded, spun and knitted from the fleece of my own sheep. And I am so grateful to the handful of independent wool shops that manage to survive and sell the real deal, not just acrylic, that is cheap, and accessible, yes, but nothing like the original source of it all. This country was built on wool.
